10 Gallon Aquarium Decorations?

I have a new 10 gallon tank that is now being cycled with biozyme and water tests are just about perfect. I accidentally chose a light gravel and it washes the color out of fish greatly, so going to have to get a black/blue mix. I ordered some plants off of ebay shown in the link below. I just need help on what to chose as hiding places / center pieces for the tank. I have been to several stores and nothing has looked good. Please any suggestions on a good looking tank. I would go live plants but so much more money to be dumped into them and just don’t have it right now. Thanks.

What is this brown growth on aquarium decorations/pebbles?

I have a 5 gallon tank, pretty new a little over one month. There is 2 types of growth in the tank. There is a brown kind of rust colored (fuzz?) growing on some coral decorations and in some areas like on the glass there is green (fuzzy) growth. Which type is good which type is bad? Is this algae or bacteria? Also, should I remove it? thanks.
also I asked one of the guys in petland and he said the growth on the decoration is good thats what we want to happen. (cycling).
The tank is freshwater

Aquarium rocks and decorations what kind and how many?

I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 black tetras, 3 platies a guppy, a pecostimos and a chinese algae eater. I am wondering how much gravel rocks should be in the bottom of the tank. I have just enough to barely cover the bottom right now, it makes cleaning very easy. I also was wondering what kind of live plant can I have in there? What is the easiest to care for? Is it a pain to have live plants in the tank? I know they are good for some fish but cleaning a 55 gallon tank can be time consuming with one siphon hose and buckets. I don’t want to add more problems. I would love for my fishy to have something real in there if it will help them and not be a BIG hassle.
